We’ve been extremely busy in the new year building rock entrances, storage and horse stalls and with the new building additions we have new members of The Farm family — baby chicks !!! These are not just any chicks they are Heritage poultry from The Sustainable Poultry Network. Our chicks are Barred Plymouth Rock chicks. Bard tells you the type of feathers – striped gray and white or brown and white, and Plymouth Rock tells you where the chickens originated, Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. This is very new to me and I am leaning on Peter Karns our Farm manager who went to “chicken school” with the Sustainable Poultry Network last fall. ...

The Bachelor

The Bachelor TV show came to town and we were honored to have them request an evening here at The Farm. It was heartbreaking to have to tell the planner that we were already booked. So I am going to watch this season show to see where the happy couple went for their North Carolina date night.

Rock-Does it Again

That stinker! He got out again. This is round three for “Rock” breaking out of his fencing, Thanksgiving we are sure he was hunting for something special for dinner so we think he and “lady” decided to go foraging! They found the bee hives and did quite a bit of damage there- at first since we heard from neighbors on the opposite side and down the road that a bear had been sighted maybe Rock didn’t participate in the bee hive invasion of privacy- but also all evidence pointed to no well-bread bear would ever leave honey behind. Tuggar Tales visits The Farm Cabins

Tuggar Tales has his own website and blog so along with his owner, they came to visit us here at The Farm Cabins two times. Once on their way to NJ to the beach and then on their way home. Rock was interested in the 8 mo old puppy, but then Rock is so huge he is interested in anything small that moves !!! Thanks Tuggar for coming to visit us and we hope you come again.

Rock Meets Tugger of Tugger Tails

Tugger is a 10 month old golden retriever owned by Brennan Clipp. You can read about his adventures on his blog at tuggertails.com.  Rock invited Tugger to come for a photo shoot last week when Tugger was staying in one of The Farms cottages, the Parker House.  The Farm has 5 cabins and cottages on the property as well as our event center.
